Green energy firms dominate Britain's top 20 fastest growing enterprises

Green energy firms account for 25 per cent of Britain’s top 20 fastest growing private enterprises in terms of sales, a survey of growth companies in the UK reveals.
No less than five companies selling renewable and energy efficiency products and services made annual sales growth of more than 110 per cent in 2011-12, placing them within the top 20 of the 16th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100, published yesterday. The table highlights the 100 private companies who have had the fastest-growing sales over their latest three years.
Preston-based solar energy systems wholesaler Solfex is ranked fifth with a 179 per cent increase in sales from £717,000 last year to £15.5 million in 2012.
