Small wind turbines: installing and maintaining the fleet
June 15, 2012
Mark Twain once said: “Training is everything. The cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with a college education."
After the great news of our announcements of major orders for the UK and US markets, we are following through by refitting the manufacturing and distribution hub to increase our production capacity. More on this as we progress.
But it’s not just important to deliver our orders; the quality of our installation and other customer support mechanisms must be maintained and where possible, even improved. At Gaia-Wind we pride ourselves on the quality of our product. But of course this must also extend beyond the hardware and systems to areas like the pre-installation service we provide and the quality of install.
So all our installers are obliged to undergo our own training to ensure Gaia-Wind installation quality and standards are met and maintained throughout our distribution and installation network. We are now regularly running these courses to meet our fleet servicing requirements and continued growth in sales. This week’s batch of trainees included Thomson Wind, Arduaine Farm Services, Sustainable Energy Systems and Gaia-Wind Staff.

This is not just important for Gaia-Wind: our growing fleet of turbines – over 500 worldwide - means in the UK alone, our installation and servicing requirements supports at least 12 companies in England and a growing number of staff in Scotland.
As its Royal Jubilee time here in the UK, here is what The Queen had to say on how to do her job well for sixty years: "It's all to do with the training: you can do a lot if you're properly trained."
