Royal Highland Show: What's a bit of rain!
June 22, 2012
The summer season of agricultural shows is in full swing again and none more so than the Royal Highland Show. Four great days in our annual events calendar and the opportunity we value for getting out and talking to the farming community.
So despite the rain (or did anyone notice?), the Gaia-Wind team have been out in force this week on our stand in the Renewables Village: which according to The Herald on Wednesday is the biggest area of growth at the event. Little wonder, since renewable energy generation offers farmers a viable form of farm business diversification and a very necessary way of reducing energy bills - which of course are only going to go one way and that's up!
Yesterday afternoon, we were delighted to be able to host a visit from Michael Moore, the Secretary of State for Scotland, who has a keen interest in renewables. Kenneth, our UK Sales Manager, took some time to explain the company and some of the challenges facing the small wind industry.
Here's hoping for a couple of drier days to finish this year's show - especially as I'll be on stand duty there this weekend! If you're there, do pay us a visit and take some time to enter our competition to win a luxury break for two at Gleneagles Hotel. It's always a pleasure to be at the Royal Highland Show and congratulations once again to the show organisers for another great year.
